The Abbess goes to Art school

Nun_in_cloister,_1930

I read this article in Intelligent Life Magazine. It talks about the tale of an abbess who lived 51 years as a nun in enclosed doors, then in the age of 73 she went to Art school. She has a marvellous experience to share. She sees our world in a different way than we do.

She was astonished with the idea of ppl listening to ipods on their way as this is an unnatural sound they are putting themselves in. ppl drinking alcholos till they drop…she wonders if that is an escape. ppl droping cigarrets and rubbish in the streets!!! she sees that ppl are all sad and are rushing all the time holding a cup of coffee to keep them awake.

i agree with her so much, the world is going through a whole phase of depression. ppl are rushing all the time. they have niether time left for thier loved ones nor themselves. ppl are superficial and no longer deep thinkers because they are not giving themselves enough time for thinking.

ppl take all kinds of drugs all the time…a drug to get slimmer…a drug for mood elavting…a drug for looking younger…a drug to sleep and even a drug to wake up. if they just chose to live a balanced healthy life, they would be able to get rid of 50% of their drug intake.

“In the end”, she says, “prayer is more profoundly creative than art can ever be.”
